Wondering what skyrise construction looks like around the globe? Today we're rounding up the tallest buildings currently under construction in each of the world's eight geographical regions. 

1. At a full kilometre high (167 storeys), Kingdom Tower in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, will be the tallest building in the world once complete.

2. The Ping An Finance Center in Shenzhen, China, is structurally topped out at 660 metres and 115 storeys. It is the tallest of the 80+ supertalls currently under construction in China.

3. Central Park Tower in New York City will be 541 metres and 95 storeys. Once complete, Central Park Tower will be a symbolic .3 metres shorter than One World Trade Center, New York's tallest building.

4. The Lakhta Centre in St. Petersburg will rise to 464 metres and 86 storeys, making it the tallest building in Europe.

5. One Tower in Balneario Camboriu, Brazil will be 280 metres and 77 storeys. This residential project is set to be the tallest building in Brazil, and 20 metres shy of Torre Costanera, South America's tallest building.

6. Torre Koi in Monterrey, Mexico plans to reach 276 metres and 67 storeys. Torre Koi is slated to become the tallest building in Mexico and the third tallest in Central America.

7. Over in Australia, Brisbane Skytower will be 270 metres and 90 storeys tall, making it Australia's third tallest building. The rest of Oceania has yet to bypass the 200 metre mark.

8. Britam Tower in Nairobi, Kenya will clock in at 30 storeys and 192 metres. Britam Tower will be Kenya's tallest building, and the second tallest in Africa after Johannesburg's 1973 Carlton Centre.
