Three Greater Toronto firms are coming together to bring a 36-storey tower to Jasper Avenue NW and 106 Street NW in Edmonton. Jasper House, by Lamb Development Corp, Fortress Real Developments and architectsAlliance, is set to house 260 residential units.
The project would replace a current surface parking lot with a glassy tower featuring at-grade retail. Suites range in size from 520 to nearly 2,500 square feet, and finishes have been planned with an industrial aesthetic in mind. The units feature exposed concrete ceilings and walls, engineered wood floors, stainless steel appliances, and stone kitchen countertops. The full amenity list for the project has not been released, but renderings indicate an outdoor pool and lounging areas are slated for the complex.
Sales for Jasper House sat at 40% as of October, with ground breaking planned for this year. Despite the slump in oil prices, which have hit Alberta's economy hard, Edmonton remains one of the wealthiest cities in Canada. Given its average household income of $90,000, Lamb has made it a priority to invest in the Prairie city. In collaboration with the same architect working on Jasper House, Lamb is planning an additional 350 units at North Condos. This larger project will also be taller, rising 9 storeys above Jasper House. As that project launches, we'll keep our eyes peeled for more details.
