Steps away from major Miami cultural destinations like the American Airlines Center, Perez Art Museum, and Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, yet another condominium highrise is about to bring luxury living along Biscayne Bay. Prolific builders The Related Group and Alta Developers have partnered with Arquitectonica to envision a 60-storey residential tower. Auberge Residences and Spa, now entering the sales phase, is the latest addition under the Auberge Resorts Collection banner. The boutique luxury brand boasts high-end properties around the world, including Auberge Beach Residences & Spa Fort Lauderdale, the hospitality company's second residential-only development on the East Coast of the United States.

Several communal areas residing within the building rival the best private amenities Miami condominiums have to offer. Residents will be able to utilize the expansive 12th floor landscaped deck, fitness equipment, heated pool, cabanas, media room, business centre, children's playroom, golf simulator, wine room, cigar lounge, and luxury restaurant. Nearly 200 metres above the ground, the 60th floor boasts the highest sky pool terrace observatory in the city.

The building incorporates billowing floor plates that create uniquely shaped balconies, with the goal of maximizing views towards Biscayne Bay. Italian designer Piero Lissoni has been retained to create the elegant suites, which will feature an open concept layout. The double-height lobby and other interior spaces will also be accented by his work. Living spaces offer plenty of vertical room in the form of ceiling heights ranging from nine to eleven feet.

Penthouses spanning one and two storeys on the top eight levels feature even more modern living space. Four duplex penthouses, with some even hosting private rooftop pools, are to crown the 290-residence tower. Special designer suites, 90 in total, will be managed by Auberge Hotels. To capture the 'home away from home' feeling, guests will have a dedicated concierge staff and access to the extensive roster of amenities.

Chicagoans will recognize a familiar face that is soon to grace the street corner at the base of the building. Spanish artist Jaume Plensa is bringing his famed sculpture 'Awilda' to Miami. The 12-metre (39-foot) head has stood at Chicago's Millennium Park since 2014, when it arrived to celebrate the park's 10th anniversary. The piece will cement the neighbourhood's evident cultural status while allowing a new audience to admire the imposing work.
