Jakarta's central business district is getting denser, as two new office towers approach completion this year. Acting as the headquarters for Telkom, Indonesia's largest telecommunications conglomerate, the Telkom Landmark Tower is a 48-storey glass structure standing alongside a smaller 20-storey sibling tower. Both additions join an existing building that is being retrofitted and integrated within this contemporary 115,500-square-metre complex.

Woods Bagot has imagined the site as a budding modern office campus anchored by a central 219-metre tower. A multi-storey podium connects the existing building with its two new neighbours, servicing the entire development with retail, auditoriums, a fitness centre, and a mosque. The top of the podium will be accented with vegetation, providing shade for users of the space.

Solar shading will be maximized through the implementation of a metal screen facade "inspired by the batik patterns found in traditional Indonesian textiles," according to the Woods Bagot website. The result will be a 30 percent reduction in solar heat gain.

The building's tapered form yields differing column-free floor plate arrangements, allowing special 'sky atriums' to be created, where tenants can share ideas and collaborate in a dynamic space. Both towers have topped out and await full cladding installation.
