It has been just under two weeks since Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena officially opened with a concert on April 6th, just shy of 23 months after the Populous-designed $375 million facility broke ground on May 1, 2014. The NBA- and NHL-ready 650,000-square-foot facility sits on a 16-acre site on the iconic Las Vegas Strip, and aims to lure professional sports franchises to the growing city in the barren Mojave Desert

A time lapse video highlighting the project's construction was recently posted on YouTube, revealing 23 months of construction in just under 90 seconds.

The facility is the latest step forward in the desert city's ambitions to land an NBA franchise since they become the first city without an NBA team to host the All-Star Game in 2007. Vegas' NHL hopes may be even closer to fruition, as the NHL Board of Governors officially began accepting applications in June 2015 as part of a formal expansion process.
