Most skyscrapers found in downtown Los Angeles feature rooftop helipads, the result of a 1974 fire ordinance that mandated their inclusion in new projects for four decades before eventually being amended in 2014. In today's Viewfinder, submitted to the SkyriseCities Flickr Pool by Shabdro Photo, we are shown a helipad in downtown L.A. The two digit numbers seen on all of these helipads represent the maximum structural capacity of the roof structures below. In this case, the large red "10" represents a weight capacity of 10,000 pounds.
