Another curvilinear tower that mimics the Atlantic Ocean's waves is being erected in Miami. The under-construction 1010 Brickell by Key International and 13th Floor Investments will eventually climb 50 storeys and boast 387 residences. With nine-foot ceiling heights and spacious balconies, the project capitalizes on the growing demand for an urban yet roomy lifestyle.
The tower seems to be a perfect fit for the highrise-lined Brickell Avenue, which cuts through the central business district. 1010 Brickell's prime location puts it within walking distance of Miami's rich nightlife scene, marked by several popular restaurants and high-end retail.
Anchoring the building's amenity spaces will be The Club at 1010, which is poised to feature a broad selection of activities for residents of all ages. The two-storey area will include an indoor heated swimming pool with retractable glass walls leading outside, a spa with a Turkish steam bath, an outdoor running track, a games room, a large indoor and outdoor children's play area, sport courts, and a fitness centre. A rooftop pool, lounge, and theatre cap the vast list of amenities.
A series of undulating vertical columns, which are becoming visible on the skyline, underscore the height of the Sieger Suarez-designed building. Dark glazing is beginning to seal the exposed concrete corners atop the tower's hulking podium. The building has surpassed the halfway point, replacing a parking garage that did little to animate the streetscape.
