Government-owned real estate developer Nakheel not only specializes in building sprawling properties across prime sites, but their extensive land reclamation projects have created completely new areas for vertical growth. They envisioned three artificial islands extending from the Dubai shoreline into the Persian Gulf. In 2006, the smallest of the three — Palm Jumeirah — was completed. It created an entirely new neighbourhood, consisting largely of luxury villas, that has become the epicentre for opulent hotels and resorts. The 1,539-room Atlantis is unquestionably the most iconic hotel on the island, and it will soon be accompanied by another sweeping resort when Nakheel's Palm 360 project is opened.
The developer envisions a pair of towers that would host two boutique hotels of 110 rooms plus 252 serviced apartments, including six enormous 12,000-square-foot penthouses. In total, 12 four-bedroom penthouses will firmly plant residents in the lap of luxury, with full-floor spaces containing lavish facilities like a private infinity pool, gymnasium, and home theatre.
Those who are priced out of the penthouses will still have access to a 135-metre-long infinity pool on the rooftop and a restaurant complex linking the two towers on the 30th floor. To take advantage of sea and city views, residences will be located at the top of the buildings. The hotel rooms will be spread across the first nine floors of each tower, as restaurants, a luxury spa, and a health and fitness centre are sprinkled within.
The complex would stand on the western crescent of the artificial island mere metres from the buzzing crowds at Atlantis. Nakheel is aiming for a relatively quick construction timeline, with a 2020 delivery date targeted by the company.
