The Chicago waterfront has always been admired for its vast public spaces and diversity of recreational and entertainment activities. The riverfront, on the other hand, had historically and comparatively been neglected. But a three-phase revitalization scheme, the Chicago Riverwalk, has brought restaurants, promenades and ample green space to the previously underused stretch.
