Construction of Miami's 53-storey Aria on the Bay project has officially surpassed the halfway point, with topping off anticipated in April 2017. Crews are currently working on the 34th level of the Melo Group development, which is sited in Downtown Miami’s Arts and Entertainment District at 1770 N. Bayshore Drive.

About 75% of the development's 648 units are already accounted for. But the project team is now taking their sales campaign northwards in the hopes of enticing New Yorkers to the sunnier and warmer end of the East Coast. Aria on the Bay has secured registration to market and sell its remaining units in New York, as legally required of out-of-state and international developers.

The Arquitectonica-designed project will offer an arrangement of one- to four-bedroom condominiums, starting at the $400,000s, plus exclusive three-storey upper penthouses equipped with private pools. Those swanky spaces are fetching upwards of $6 million. Each residence comes with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, wrap-around terraces, private elevator access, open living areas, and designer finishes. There will also be a top-notch assortment of amenities on the 14th floor, catering to residents' needs and recreational desires with two swimming pools, a jacuzzi, fire pits, barbecue grills, a fitness centre, social room, and screening room. A 20,000-square-foot ground-floor commercial component includes office, retail, and restaurant space.

"When you compare the top markets in Miami to New York, Miami is an incredible value at a third of the price," said developer Carlos Melo, principal of the Melo Group. "Aria on the Bay offers buyers a luxury product on Miami’s waterfront in a walkable, family-friendly neighbourhood surrounded by world-class cultural attractions — plus the lifestyle benefits of lower taxes and amazing weather year round."
