Coming soon to St. Louis, a 36-storey apartment tower designed by Chicago-based Studio Gang Architects for developer Mac Management is set to transform the city's Central West End, on the site of a former parking lot opposite the sprawling Forest Park. By far the tallest structure in the neighbourhood, the One Hundred will add 305 rental units to the area, which is more than enough to inject a great deal of urban vibrancy into what is otherwise a relatively sleepy stretch of road along Kingshighway Boulevard.
As can be seen in the image above, the exterior features a series of tilted window panes four levels high apiece, which will allow every fourth tenant to have a terrace, while providing most others with a small amount of bonus space. The One Hundred will also come with 355 parking spaces, 6,700 square feet of of amenity space, and a 900-square-foot retail space at grade. Set for completion in 2019, the $130 million development will be a welcome addition to the neighbourhood, part of the city's slow but steady urban transformation.
SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
