A development team comprised of Jamison Services, Hankey Investment Company, Falcon California Investments, and Highlands Capital is responsible for a two-tower development across from the Staples Center and the LA Live entertainment complex, currently rising in the South Park neighbourhood. With both towers rising to 35 storeys, the $500 million Circa development at 12th Street between Figueroa and Flower will hold 648 apartments and approximately 48,000 square feet of ground-level commercial space, with name-brand retailers and restaurants catering to residents, locals, and visitors.
Designed by Harley Ellis Devereaux, the twin buildings are climbing from an eight-level podium wrapped in glass and signage, aligning with the electric ambiance of an area meant to rival Times Square. The floor plates are elliptical in shape, borrowing from the design cues of the Staples Center, and optimizing views for residents. The luxury rental project will be built to "condo specifications" and outfitted with European high-end finishes. Rents for one- and two-bedroom apartments, plus penthouses, start at $3,000 a month and come to a ceiling of $20,000 a month.
Residents will have access to a number of bespoke amenities, including a resort-like deck equipped with a signature round pool and private cabanas. There will also be a fully equipped gym with a yoga room and lap pool awaiting residents when the project is completed in early 2018.
