Tianqing Real Estate Development, the United States subsidiary of Chinese real estate company Tianqing Group, released new renderings this week showing a redesigned scheme for The Allen in Houston. To be located on the southeast corner of Allen Parkway and Gillette Street, across from Buffalo Bayou Park, the mixed-use development has been designed as a connector between downtown and uptown Houston.
As Tianqing's first project in the United States, developed in collaboration with DC Partners, the $500 million development will include a retail component managed by Transwestern Retail and a 200,000-square-foot office element managed by Stream Realty Partners. A luxury hotel chain operated by Thompson Hotels will also be part of the new HOK-designed complex.
The two released renderings showcase the exterior and interior design of the futuristic development, which shows a plunge pool and wide outdoor terrace separating the indoor and outdoor lifestyle of the condominiums. Judging by the image, residents are in for some fantastic all-encompassing views of the downtown skyline. The main tower is composed of three stacked volumes accented by horizontal lines, while the podium structures are topped by a deluge of greenery.
We'll continue to track the development through to approval and construction. Additional images and information can be found in the Database file linked below.
