An under-construction Dubai development set within a global health and wellness destination has received international recognition after winning a prestigious Cityscape Global Award for Best Residential Mid to High Rise Project (Future). The accolade, bestowed upon La Reserve Residences last week, applauds the project's 40,000-square-metre encapsulation of homes, trails, recreational spaces, pools, gyms, and running tracks.
Swiss Property and 10 Design envision La Reserve Residences as a wellbeing community within Dubai Healthcare City Phase 2, the world's largest healthcare free economic zone. This development and the broader umbrella project aims to attract tourists to Dubai for medical services and treatments. Chris Jones, partner at 10 Design, said the firm's pedigree has informed the creation of "comfortable and smart living spaces," that enables residents to "enjoy an elevated quality of life."
Design partner Ted Givens says the design embraces the theme of wellness by creating a "bold terraced landscape offering expansive views over the Dubai Creek." At the centre of the development's garden is a large pool, intersected by a jogging loop. The terracing of the buildings is heightened by a series of duplexes that sweep through the centre of the twin towers and form a glazed arc across the facade, symbolizing water flowing through the landscape.
The 230-unit development will contain a mix of one- to four-bedroom suites strategically arranged to maximize the number of penthouses and duplexes. Construction is expected to wrap up by the last quarter in 2019.
