A major development in Manhattan featuring three of the world's most renowned starchitects has now topped-out. GID Development Group celebrated the milestone for Waterline Square, a 2.2-million-square-foot project that is remaking one of the last chunks of available waterfront property on the island between West 59th Street and 61st Street.

The Hudson River development is composed of three towers. One Waterline Square by Richard Meier & Partners Architects has reached 37 storeys, Two Waterline Square by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates has climbed to 38 storeys, and Viñoly Architects' Three Waterline Square has settled at 34 storeys. The towers collectively feature 263 condominiums that begin on or above the 20th floor of each building, which are individually distinct, yet in sync with the enveloping aesthetic.

"It has been an amazing journey seeing this historic project come to fruition. With all three buildings being constructed simultaneously, Waterline Square will offer its residents a new and complete neighbourhood that is unlike any other in New York City, and we're thrilled with the pace of construction," said James Linsley, president of GID Development Group. "We have created something that is unmatched by any other development — with close proximity to both the water and green space — and Waterline Square has already changed the game in this coveted neighbourhood."

Homes come in one- to five-bedroom layouts that are finished in hand-picked materials, custom kitchen cabinetry, and marble baths. Residents living here will have exclusive access to the Waterline Club, a 100,000-square-foot amenities package that connects each building. Designed by hospitality specialists Rockwell Group, the spaces are fitted with programs catered for sports, fitness, swimming, leisure, and social activities.

The buildings have been constructed around a three-acre park designed by Mathews Nielsen Landscape Architects that will boast open grass areas, walking paths, a playground and water features. A 28,000-square-foot experiential food market by the Cipriani family will also adorn the complex. The food hall, located within Two Waterline Square, will offer numerous food and beverage establishments, including a market, restaurants and fast food outlets.

The project is slated to commence closings in late 2018. Additional images and information can be found in the Database file linked below. Want to get involved in the discussion or share your photos?
