Baltimore's newest skyscraper is topped-out 44 storeys above Light Street as the Solomon Cordwell Buenz-designed tower approaches planned 2018 occupancy. Developer Questar celebrated the milestone last month and marked 414 Light Street as the tallest residential building in the state of Maryland.

The luxury apartment building will contain 394 units, with the first scheduled for delivery in the spring. Renderings show an above-ground parking garage holding 469 stalls capped by a rooftop amenity space, including gardens, pools and lounging areas.

Additional amenities in 414 Light Street include a games room, entertainment kitchen and dining bar, resident salon and theatre, fireside retreat room, a private fitness club, and a pet spa. Approximately 12,300 square feet of retail serves to animate the public realm surrounding Balitmore's next landmark.

The LEED Silver certified building will contains a number of eco-living features, including energy efficient appliances, dual insulated windows, recharging stations for electric vehicles, and a bike sharing program. Each unit is replete with expansive glass windows, natural oak hardwood flooring, and Bosch stainless steel kitchen appliances. Some suites come with covered balconies and terraces that extend the living space outdoors.

Questar is currently in the midst of designing a second tower that could push 50 storeys. But 414 Light Street is the star of the city for the time being, as it quickly approaches completion.
