Real estate investment firm Mast Capital has completed their first condominium project, a four-storey, 12-residence building designed by award-winning architect Rene Gonzalez. Miami's Louver House sits in the highly desirable South of Fifth community and exudes the character-rich amenities and history of Meridian Avenue in its architectural blueprint.

The area's tree-lined boulevards, vernacular architecture, and the history of the site mutually informed the design for Louver House, which is interspersed with greenery at every turn. A historic Belvedere bungalow that once occupied the site has been spiritually re-created in the form of a louvered bungalow in the exact same position. This nod to the past becomes the focal point of the entrance, which leads to a lobby adorned with artwork by Michele Oka Doner.

There are also visible references to the neighbourhood's Art Deco architecture, with a general emphasis on horizontality and Art Deco "eyebrows" reimagined at the building's edges. Speaking to the project's exterior aesthetic, architect Rene Gonzalez said: "The architectural design for Louver House has everything to do with the beauty of the building's surroundings; we wanted to create a substantial and substantive piece of architecture that pays deference to its environment and urban condition."

The aluminum louvered facade and silver travertine are hallmarks of the contemporary design, standing beside large terraces that serve as outdoor extensions of each unit. The building's amenities package includes a health club with an outdoor yoga area, a negative edge pool and deck, and a landscaped lounge area accented by grass and coconut palms.
