Murphy Development Group and CIM Group are leaving a unique impression on the Chicago skyline with a towering new project at 1326 South Michigan Avenue. Located in the city's South Loop neighbourhood, the 47-storey apartment tower is currently under construction, and the first rows of curtain wall glazing give residents reason to be excited.
The glassy tower is designed by Chicago's own Solomon Cordwell Buenz, with Walsh Construction executing its rise into the hefty skyline. It will contain 500 luxury rental units, 7,500 square feet of retail and a 188-stall parking garage. Residential amenities on tap include a library, lounge, rooftop pool, and multiple green spaces.
The development was granted a full construction permit in summer 2017 after beginning foundation work in April. It replaces a surface parking lot with a soaring tower featuring chamfered corners wrapped in a sleek building envelope.
Construction is approaching the 20th floor as glazing makes its climb not far behind. The project is expected to be delivered in mid-2019.
