Progress at the site of Extell's Adrian Smith +Gordon Gil Architecture-designed, 473-metre Central Park Tower, has been moving along nicely since our last update. Already a fixture, the supertall-to-be will eventually rise to nearly double its current height.

Currently rising along West 57th Street in Manhattan at the foot of Central Park, the 179-unit luxury tower has already made a name for itself among the forest of supertalls that have recently cropped up in the vicinity.

Viewed above from Columbus Circle, Central Park Tower can be seen rising alongside the 290-metre, 220 Central Park South, which the former will soon soar high above.

Once complete, New York's most expensive condominium tower will be grounded by a four-storey hotel component and a multi-storey retail podium that will be anchored by a 300,000 square-foot Nordstrom.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
