A month has passed since we last checked in at 1101 S Wabash, the 30-storey, 281-key hotel tower now almost completely clad. Designed by Lothan Van Hook DeStefano Architecture, the glass-faced tower has now become a staple of the downtown skyline, its subtle interplay of blue and dark-blue vertical "columns" adding a custom look to the structure.

Located south of The Loop, near Chicago's famous Grant Park facing the waterfront, 1101 S Wabash will be an attractive option for guests looking to be in the heart of the action. For business travelers, the close proximity to Roosevelt subway station will be a bonus, providing easy access to the downtown core.

Featuring a mix of short and long term rooms, the hotel will cater to a range of individual requirements, guests to be able to park within the multi-storey garage that will make up the bottom portion of the tower.

Adjacent to a Best Western and the historic Grant Park Hotel, 1101 S Wabash will join a cluster of tourist-friendly accommodations along the Chicago Waterfront, the architecture-rich, metropolitan city and major sports hub a popular destination year-round.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
