Nearly two years since our last full update on what has previously been known as The Pinnacle and 22 Bishopgate, and progress on the since re-branded TwentyTwo has been moving along well, the 62-storey office tower soon to join an impressive collection of steel and glass high-rises in the City of London. Captured below in a series of atmospheric stills by Flickr user David Holt, TwentyTwo's dramatic ascent has been monitored closely since its debut.

While notably less visually daring as its immediate neighbours, being neither as pointy as The Scalpel, or as distinctly round as 20 Fenchurch, TwentyTwo's visual charms come in its subtlety, the approximately rectilinear tower to eventually meet the skyline with a series of gentle setbacks.

Viewed above and below, the relatively boxy silhouette of the PLP Architecture-designed TwentyTwo can be plainly seen from many different vantage points, the 278-metre tower a standout figure on the London skyline.

Set for completion in 2019, TwentyTwo will bring a sizable, 200,000 square metres of modern office space to Central London, continuing a trend towards intensification going back more than a decade.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
