National Bank has announced its development partners for what will soon become its new head office in downtown Montreal. Heading up the team, developer Broccolini will be joined by lead architect Menkès Shooner Dagenais LeTourneux Architectes, along with engineering firm WSP, structural contractor Pomerleau, and landscape architects Claude Cormier + Associés.
Set to tower high above the city's business district, the 46-storey office tower at 800 Saint-Jacques Street West will eventually be the tallest of its kind anywhere in the city. The 1 million square-foot tower will include space for an on-site daycare, and will feature an emphasis upon collaborative, modern, bright, technology-driven workspaces.
Joining the ever-densifying Montreal skyline, the base of the tower will include 40,000 square feet of public park space, thereby adding some much-needed greenery to the urban environment. With completion pegged at 2022, the new National Bank headquarters will one day become a welcome addition to the city - part of the ongoing redevelopment boom that has recently gripped the core.
SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
