Recently announced upon the occasion of President Xi Jinping of China's official visit to the UAE, the creation of what will become the largest Chinatown in the Middle East was unveiled as part of the Dubai Creek Harbour mega development now underway. To be built by Emaar Properties, the new Chinatown will serve many purposes, the collection of Chinese shops, restaurants, and cafes to honour both Chinese ex-pats and the strong political relationship that exists between China and the UAE.

Soon to be home to a vast collection of Chinese, and many other international brands including an array of luxury goods, the Middle East's largest Chinatown will be located in the heart of the city, just a ten-minute drive to Dubai International Airport.

To eventually share space with the planned 210-storey, Dubai Creek Tower - estimated to stand between 928 and 1,400 metres - which will be built at the centre of the 6 square-kilometre Dubai Creek Harbour development, the Middle East's largest Chinatown will more than likely have some stiff competition in terms of which part of the project will garner the most international attention.

Built out to completion, the broader Dubai Creek Harbour mega project will additionally be home to thousands of residential units, in addition to luxury hotels, parks, and public attractions, including a museum and marina.
