After topping off earlier this year, cladding application work at Renelle on the River in Chicago's River North district has been moving along well, with glazing now reaching roughly halfway up the tower. Designed by bKL Architecture for Belgravia Group, the 18-storey luxury condo tower has been tucked atop an underground parking garage within a tight downtown parcel adjacent to Trump International Hotel and Tower.

Built without benefit of caissons, the underground parking garage apparently engineered to handle the load provided by the condo tower, Renelle on the River went up quickly, with little to no excavation or foundation work required.

Inspired by the word "runnel," meaning a delicate stream or brook, the aptly-named Renelle on the River's 50 luxury units will provide sweeping views of the Chicago River framed by the surrounding downtown skyline.

Comprised of three- and four-bedroom suites, the luxury tower will be a prime address for those looking to live the downtown life in style - with prices ranging from $1.35 to $2.34 million (USD).

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
