Coming soon to New York's Tribeca in Lower Manhattan, 100 Franklin Street by DDG will soon become a very desirable and distinctive address for 10 very fortunate buyers. Tucked onto a narrow, wedge-shaped lot at 6th Ave and Church St, and attached to the end of a historic row of late 19th century apartment blocks, the oblong condo development is on target to achieve great things visually despite having been given precious little to work with.
The project will be comprised of two adjoined structures, which will be knit together with a magnificent, hand-laid brick facade by Denmark's Petersen Tegl. Each of the ten residences will be accessed via a private elevator, two of which will be configured as duplex penthouses with their own rooftop terraces.
A row of ground floor retail will line 6th Ave, which will arguably represent a marked improvement to the local streetscape, at least from an urban planning perspective, which was long defined by a large mural by French graffiti artist JR.
With units beginning at $3.3 million, it is little surprise that this exclusive address comes with a hefty price tag. This being, said, 100 Franklin Street will be a very welcome addition to the neighbourhood, Tribeca the perfect location for a creative infill project of this quality.
SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
