While most of the attention to date regarding Zaha Hadid's One Thousand Museum in Miami has rightfully gone to the tower, the most recent image of the project on our Forum highlights the progress being made on the fanciful podium and parking garage at its base. As can be seen in the image below, the multi-storey podium and parking garage is in the process of being clad in a perforated, white, undulating metal casing, more or less following the exterior curves of the tower above.

Compared to the early rendering featured below, the look and feel of the real thing appears to be fairly close to the initial designs. The only major difference seems to be that while the rendering shows what looks to be distinctive slits between levels, the actual cladding is wholly unbroken (save for the aforementioned decorative perforations).

Set for completion by 2019, the late Zaha Hadid's legacy tower project in Miami will be a fine addition to the South Florida coastline.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
