Aria Development Group and joint venture partner AQARAT have broken ground on the 31-stoey YOTELPAD Miami, a new hotel-condominium concept designed inside and out by Stantec. The first YOTELPAD on the East Coast will feature 222 Yotel-branded "cabins" (hotel rooms) alongside 231 "PADS" (condominiums).

Located in Miami's downtown core at 227 NE 2nd Street, the development will also include amenities like a 2,000-square-foot Skytop Lounge, pool deck with restaurant and bar, fitness centre, co-working space and pet spa. Separate lobbies for guests and residents, plus a restaurant, lounge, organic matcha bar and a co-working space, mark the ground-level experience.

The hotel and residential portions are architecturally distinct, with the bottom hotel portion consisting of a simple rectangular volume with a grid pattern of windows. Separated by a multi-level amenities deck, the residential component is defined by floor-to-ceiling glass windows and balconies.

"We are thrilled to render our unique integrated services at Miami’s first YOTEL brand," said Adriana Jaegerman, senior principal in Stantec's Miami office. "The building’s modern, stylish architecture and sophisticated interiors will make a bold design statement in Downtown Miami."

Residences come in an array of floor plans, from studios to two-bedrooms ranging in size from 417 to 708 square feet. YOTELPAD Miami is expected to be complete in early 2021.
