Nearly three years since our last update, and progress at 3300 Main in Midtown Houston has moved along significantly. Currently standing at its approximate halfway point, the 30-storey, mixed-use development by PM Realty and AECOM will soon breathe new life into a corner of the city that is now in the midst of an urban renaissance.

Featuring a 328-unit residential tower with retail at grade, and a shorter, yet no less impressive, 8-storey parking garage, 3300 Main is on target to deliver upwards of 500 residents to Midtown Houston. Well-situated within a vibrant, urban neighbourhood populated by numerous restaurants, shops, and bars, and along the route of the city's primary LRT line, 3300 Main is in a good position to capture the imaginations - and chequebooks - of future buyers.

Despite its positioning alongside the aforementioned METRORail Red Line with direct service to downtown, the attached garage will have space for a whopping 521 cars, Houston still very much a "car city" despite recent improvements to rapid transit. Adding to the development's urban flair however, the addition of a 14,000 sq. ft. retail space at grade will likely work wonders towards coaxing locals out of their cars.

Set to become neighbours to the Midtown Art & Theater Center Houston (MATCH), 3300 Main will soon be synonymous with the city's burgeoning arts scene. Once complete, it is hoped that more like 3300 Main will continue to crop up in the trendy Midtown district, Houston well on its way to rivalling the likes of nearby Austin.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
