Billed as a farm in a concrete jungle, the Latitute Studio-designed Sky Condo currently under construction along New York City's High Line park in Manhattan is set to rise a total of 14 storeys. Going up at the corner of 18th Street and 10th Ave close to the Meatpacking District and Chelsea, Sky Condos will soon be home to dozens of residences perched high atop the city's famous linear urban park.

With frontage along 10th Ave, Sky Condo will place residents within easy walking distance of numerous local shops, restaurants, and other services. Close as well to the 8th Avenue Subway and West Side Highway, the High Line-adjacent location will provide owners with several convenient forms of transportation.

As viewed in the rendering below, Sky Condo will be covered from top to bottom in a comprehensive living wall. Vines and other greenery will cover the entirety of the structure, thereby creating an eco-friendly aesthetic tie-in to the adjacent High Line park.

Accessible from within and without the structure, the living wall will be a major standout feature of the development. Capped as well, with a series of what appear to be small wind turbines, the green rating of this particular building is likely to be very impressive.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
