A 200-metre-tall residential tower has broken ground at 700 Saint-Jacques in Downtown Montreal. Spearheaded by Broccolini, one of the city's most ubiquitous property developers, Victoria sur le Parc is poised to become the tallest residential building in Montreal.

While the bulk of the 58-storey volume will contain residences, ten floors of the project have been set aside for office space, including a commercial ground floor connecting the building to the streetscape. Designed by IBI Group and Béïque Legault Thuot and described by project proponents as a "true vertical village," the development will rise adjacent to a park created by renowned landscape architect Claude Cormier. This public space will link the building to the new National Bank Headquarters, a 46-storey office tower also being developed by Broccolini.

Roger Plamondon, President of Real Estate Development and Acquisitions at Broccolini, Robert Beaudry, District Councillor for Saint-Jacques and Head of Economic and Commercial Development, Housing and Design on the Executive Committee of the City of Montreal, and Anthony Broccolini, Chief Operating Officer at Broccolini were on hand to officially break ground on the project last week.

Since the launch of sales in October, over 300 of the units have sold, translating to approximately 75 percent of the total available residences in the building. "The speed at which the available units sold shows once again just how much buyers trust Broccolini's expertise," said Chief Operating Officer, Anthony Broccolini. "This enthusiasm gives us the opportunity to put the finishing touches on the redevelopment of this city block," added Roger Plamondon, President of Real Estate Development and Acquisitions.
