A month since our last update, and the 62-storey TwentyTwo has now all but topped off in the City of London. Standing tall at 278 metres, TwentyTwo (formerly 22 Bishopsgate) is on target to become the city's second-tallest high-rise after The Shard.
Captured in a recent host of sun-kissed images by David Holt, TwentyTwo can be seen glistening against the London skyline, its angular, glassy facade cutting a fine silhouette. Designed by PLP Architecture for AXA Real Estate and Lipton Rogers Developments, the 202,000 sq.-ft. complex will soon be home to a daily influx of almost 12,000 employees split between 100 companies.
Tenants will be provided with a full range of amenities - accounting for 10 percent of the total interior space - which will include a full-service spa, gym, and number of lounges. As for office space, there will be a series of 25,000 sq.-ft. flexible floor plans, complete with three-metre ceilings for extra height and airiness.
The overall effect of these luxurious accommodations, backed by a range of smart technologies and other conveniences, will make for a comfortable, productive work environment. A sign of the modern metropolis that London has become, TwentyTwo will be a fine addition to the city.
SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
