Currently on the rise in Manila, the S-shaped, 50-storey, SM Megamall Tower is on target to bring 1.3 million sq. ft. of office space to the Mandaluyong region of the city. Designed by Arquitectonica for SM Prime Holdings, the uniquely-shaped tower will soon become part of the much larger SM Megamall complex.

Located south-east of the city centre, midway into Manila's sprawling suburbs, the SM Megamall Tower will be best-served by cars, though there will be a local bus connection that will ferry people to the Manila Metro. The office tower will likely serve the area well, the majority of the SM Megamall lands currently devoted to retail.

At 250 metres, the SM Megamall Tower will also be one of the tallest in the vicinity, the project part of the region's ongoing urban transformation. Standing today at roughly its mid-point, the project is projected for completion by 2020.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
