Just over two months since we last checked in at Wolf Point in Chicago, and progress on the East Tower has continued at a solid pace. The 60-storey Wolf Point East by Hines and Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects will top off in the next few weeks, this to be the second-tallest of the three-tower trio that will eventually fill out the development.

Located in the heart of the city, with a prime piece of riverfront property, Wolf Point has become an unmistakable part of the Chicago skyline. The 205-metre, 698-unit, Wolf Point East will thus be a handsome addition to the site, its completion to set the stage for the third and final tower.

Forming something of a bulwark at the confluence of the north and south branches of the Chicago River, Wolf Point's prominent position means that its riverfront landscaping must be of a high quality in order to satisfy the city's exacting architectural standards. To this end, the bottom of the development will include a multi-tiered arrangement of pedestrian pathways and public seating areas, complete with elegant street furniture and ample green space.

The base of the development will be made inviting and open, its riverfront locale sure to attract a mix of locals and visitors alike. Once complete, Wolf Point will be an excellent addition to the Windy City.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
