Postmark London, an under-construction residential development in the British capital, has made great strides since work began a couple of years back. The project, which is currently in phase one of a soon to be four phase build out will bring a total of 681 new residences to the Camden borough over the next few years. Located between the Saint Pancras and Clerkenwell neighbourhoods, the development is primed to offer future residents an urban, accessible lifestyle.

The project owes its name to the site on which it is being developed, which was formerly the flagship location for the Royal Mail. To these ends, an unused rail mail tunnel still exists below the site.

Phase one of the project is set to house 151 units in a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom configurations. At the centre of phase one will be a private courtyard offering residents the ability to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of their homes.

Construction on phase one of the development has been progressing nicely with work beginning on the 5th floor. As soon as it tops out, cladding is sure to follow with an anticipated completion date for sometime in 2020.

Developed by the UK-based Taylor Wimpey, the development will take up over 6 acres of space (significant for central London) and will include four buildings with the tallest rising 15 storeys. Amenities for phase one will include a 24-hour concierge, cinema, rooftop terrace, and a gym.

Owing to its central location, Postmark London is only steps from many shops and attractions such as Exmouth Market, the Barbican Centre, and many others. In addition, Postmark is located within walking distance to several tube stations making transit access a breeze.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below
