Our sister site UrbanToronto.ca has a sneak peek of the exterior finishes for Canada's tallest building, as construction of the supertall tower nears grade in Toronto.
As construction work closes in on grade at Mizrahi Developments' The One at Yonge and Bloor in Downtown Toronto, anticipation is building for the Foster + Partners and Core Architects-designed project set to become Canada's tallest building. Though it will still be several months before the tower begins to make its impact felt above the intersection, we’re getting an exclusive advanced look at the exterior finishes that will define the supertall tower.
A cladding mock-up installed off-site provides a first taste of the tower’s cladding, a mixture of brushed aluminum and glazing which Sam Mizrahi describes as having bronze champagne coloured hues, not as easily seen in the shade as per the image below. The brushed aluminum panels will cover the tower’s hybrid structural exoskeleton’s exterior components, while curtainwall glazing will make up the primary building envelope.
