New life will flow through the empty halls of Benidorm's tallest building as a new arrangement aiming to finally complete the project is finalized. Dragados, a subsidiary of Spain's largest construction company Grupo ACS, has been selected by developer UNIQ Residential to deliver the Intempo residential tower five years after construction had stopped.
As reported by economíaDigital, work on completing the 49-storey, 187-metre-tall building will begin this month and continue until mid-2021. SVP Global acquired the property in 2018, seven years after Intempo was originally scheduled for inauguration.
UNIQ Residential has sold 150 of the 256 homes in the tower in just three months. Residences are currently fetching between €240,000 and €1 million on the market.
Grupo ACS is chaired by Florentino Pérez, current president of Real Madrid Club de Fútbol.
Intempo is the tallest building in Spain outside of Madrid, and one of the tallest buildings in the world in a city less than 100,000 people. The popular beachfront city of Benidorm is colloquially known as 'Little Manhattan' for its densely packed tall buildings.
