The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) have announced the Award of Excellence Winners for the CTBUH 2020 Awards Program. The winning projects, representing the world's best tall buildings, urban contributions, technologies and innovations, will compete in their respective "Best in Category" distinctions at the CTBUH 2020 Tall + Urban Innovation Conference in Chicago next year.
The "Best Tall Building" category has been split into five thresholds organized by height. A number of other categories recognize aspects of the development life cycle, including construction and renovation. Other awards for innovation, lifetime achievement and 10-year distinctions will be announced in the future.
"This year's Award of Excellence Winners communicate the diversity of interdisciplinary thought and innovation that will characterize both current and future generations of urban development around the world," said Best Tall Building Jury Chair Karl Fender, Director at Fender Katsalidis Architects. "These recognitions, bestowed by the world’s premier authority on tall buildings, showcase these projects to a global audience and help drive a meaningful conversation about the quality of our urban environments."
