The tallest residential building in Miami's Edgewater neighbourhood has topped off construction at 57 storeys. Occupying a slice of waterfront real estate at 788 NE 23rd Street, the 198-metre-tall Elysee boasts a telescopic design from Arquitectonica, and will be fully complete in 2020.

The project by Two Roads Development features 100 half- and full-floor residences ranging from three- to six-bedrooms and 2,220 to 6,000 square feet of space. The building's raw 11,600-square-foot, three-storey penthouse was purchased for a record $12.8 million, the highest price paid for a private residence in Edgewater's history.

All homes come with private elevators and foyers, ceiling heights in excess of ten feet high, impact-resistant glass windows and doors, Sub-Zero appliances, and gourmet kitchens. Each unit is also afforded west- or east-facing terraces for residents to enjoy sunrise and sunset views.

Elysee's distinct three-volumed envelope, increasing in size as it climbs, was imagined by Arquitectonica's Bernardo Fort-Brescia. Interior designer Jean-Louis Deniot imbued his vision for the building's common areas and amenities, which span three full floors.

The building's lobby level will include a marble-clad entrance and living room area, a bayfront lounge and a waterfront pool. Another amenities space on the seventh floor will sport a resort-size lap pool, outdoor summer kitchen and barbecue terrace, a fitness centre and yoga studio, spa with private sauna, and a children's playroom. The 30th floor is also decked out with common areas, including a lounge and bar area, dining room with seating for 24 guests, a catering facility, library, cinema, and games room.

Miami's Edgewater neighbourhood is located just north of Downtown, sandwiched between the Venetian and Julia Tuttle Causeways that link Miami to Miami Beach. Surrounding enclaves like the Arts and Entertainment District, Miami Design District and Wynwood Arts District feature a wide range of luxury shops, swanky restaurants and destination arts and culture venues.
