After breaking ground in May 2019, the first phase of the eventual 23-storey Society Phoenix project by Property Markets Group has made steady progress. The concrete skeleton of the residential, office and retail development designed by FitzGerald Associates Architects is now visible above grade, taking over an entire city block in Downtown Phoenix.

The two-phase project will first produce a 20-storey volume with 253 units. Full buildout of the property will introduce a total of 553 units to the site, bounded by Second and Third Avenues and Van Buren and Monroe Streets.

The development forms another addition to Property Markets Group's 'X Social Communities' brand of apartments, where residents have the option of renting furnished or unfurnished apartments, or choosing a furnished suite to rent with roommates through the Rent-by-Bedroom program.

One-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments will be complemented by a large amenities package, which includes an 8,000-square-foot gym and yoga studio, a 4,500-square-foot co-working space, and a sprawling 50,000-square-foot outdoor pool deck joining the two phases.

Society Phoenix will also contain 36,000 square feet of office and retail space, with 612 parking spaces being provided. The first phase is expected to wrap up construction in 2021.
