Yet another supertall tower will soon grace the Guangzhou skyline, as Goettsch Partners releases visuals of a new mixed-use complex called Poly 335 Financial Center. The 300,000-square-metre development poised for the Zengcheng district of the city will border a new regional transit station and become a modern central gathering place for the metropolitan area.

Poly Real Estate Group is developing the expansive scheme, which marries a wide range of land uses and architectural styles. The multi-building complex is designed around a central plaza and anchored by a 335-metre-tall office tower. Boasting 60 levels and 142,000 square metres of Class A office space, the building's use of external trusses provides structural stability and enables column-free interior floor plans.

"The structural solution for the slender tower is integral to the exterior expression," said GP design partner Paul De Santis. "This elegant yet bold expression culminates in a structural lattice at the crown to provide Poly 335 with a unique skyline silhouette both day and night."

The main tower will be accompanied by a pair of 57-storey residential towers located at the southern boundary of the property. A 21-storey hotel employing a similar facade as the supertall tower will blend seamlessly with a three-level, 42,000-square-metre retail podium, which will include outdoor terraces, an IMAX theatre, and a publicly accessible rooftop.

The landscaped central plaza features three primary elements: an open space adorned with bespoke sculptures, a signature display area hosting seasonal events, and a retail court highlighted by a water feature.

A sales centre for the first phase of the project has already been completed. The entire development is expected to be delivered in 2023.
