Hospitality firm Aman will be building a two-tower hotel and residential project in the contemporary Faena District of South Beach, Florida. Len Blavatnik of Access Industries and Vlad Doronin of OKO Group announced their partnership in the project late last year—the duo plan to introduce the rapidly expanding luxury brand to the Miami area.

The exact specifics of the development, including the architect involved and the number of rooms proposed, have yet to be announced. But the highly anticipated project is expected to make waves when visuals are revealed.

It will fill a gap in the streetscape left by the partial demolition of the Versailles Hotel at 3425 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. A portion of the hotel complex dating back to 1955 was imploded in 2015 while the original 1940s-era tower remained standing.

Developer Alan Faena built the new neighbourhood with financial backing from Blavatnik. The area includes over one million square feet of mixed-use real estate, including the Faena Hotel Miami Beach, Faena Forum and the Faena House condominium. Faena had originally planned to build a 16-storey residential tower on the site, but the scheme was cancelled in 2016 following a slowdown in the luxury condo market.

The Miami Beach location will be Aman's fourth outpost in the United States. The company, headquartered in Switzerland with numerous properties throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and the Caribbean, is on track to open its New York location in the historic Crown Building by the end of this year. Aman's current locations in the U.S. are in Wyoming and Utah.
