makes sense... then again that lady was talking to an individual worker on the line who probably doesnt know the full picture and was making assumptions...
yea i dont think she even knows about this issue. she only came in last year and all these operation speeds were determined long before tory stepped down.
what we need to do is raise awareness to her office so that her staff can bring it up to her.
with the resumption of LRT testing along the line does anyone know if thats because the latest software patch has been applied and/or the track has been fully repaired?

apparently its because freight train double stackers and autocars may be wider than the platform. hence why even the wheelchair ramp platform is set so far back as well.
honestly though i call BS on this for the lakeshore lines and any platforms on GO operated lines. theyre just being lazy on...
yup... its a cop out for bad design or too lazy to address the problem. add heating cables, get a salter or enclose it... but no theyll just lock it up because its the cheapest solution.
second render with pods for sure will be much different. no leg room and they need to have full height dividers or else that poor carryon bag will end up under the front row.
if they are building for a future with more frequent shorter trains than yes. its a tremendous waste of taxpayers dollars to build something for only 10% usage over accommodating a situation that comes only 10% of the time.
