Looks very tasteful. Keep it up CentreCourt + IBI!!

    Toronto Toronto | 1598 Queen East | ?m | 6s | Assembly Corp | SMV

Narrow sites lend themselves to smaller retail spaces, more dynamic streetscapes and more varied architecture -- all elements sorely lacking in the Toronto condo vernacular. The more like this the better!

    Markham Toronto | York University/Seneca College: Markham Centre Campus | 56.08m | 13s | York University | Diamond Schmitt

You say that like there aren't tangible socioeconomic community benefits to university campuses and to fostering study/employment hubs in underdeveloped suburbs. The provincial deficit is a crisis, but, forgetting about short-term interests and election cycles for a second, it is entirely...

    Toronto Toronto | Cumberland at Yorkville Plaza | 124.96m | 40s | Camrost-Felcorp | WZMH

I'm not convinced about the incorporation of small but showy splashes of curtain wall into window wall towers. IMO this tends to emphasize the inferior cladding that otherwise dominates the building instead of elevating the product as a whole. Recent examples include this, the Livmore, Dundas Sq...

I acknowledged yours as a fair example, provided one that supported an alternative hypothesis, and concluded that aA are more committed to design than most firms, ultimately disagreeing with the magnitude of your statement. Not sure it gets much more grey than that, but okay.

    Toronto Toronto | Minto Yorkville Park Condos | 75.89m | 25s | Minto Group | IBI Group

Agreed, but the render shows the sexier frosted glazing starting on the floor above, so there is still hope!

    Toronto Toronto | 87 Peter | 156.05m | 49s | Menkes | Core Architects

There are examples that go the other way too, though. Is it a coincidence that the only half decent condo Menkes has delivered this boom (Harbour Plaza) is aA? Could that be driven at least in part by an uncompromizing commitment to design? I agree that Alter was a miss, but I think it's too...

Toronto Toronto | King Portland Centre and Kingly Condos | 57.6m | 15s | Allied | Hariri Pontarini

I don't mean to be too picky because I love this project, but the window frames on the residential tower would've looked much sharper in black.

I get that it's necessary in this instance given the subway running underneath, but it depresses me seeing new above-grade parking being built in downtown Toronto in 2018.

    Toronto Toronto | Dundas Square Gardens | 156.05m | 50s | Gupta | IBI Group

I'm still not a fan of the design and sheer heft of this building, but so far the podium materials are much nicer than expected. Here's hoping the tower follows suit.

    Toronto Toronto | Sixty Colborne Condos | 82.29m | 25s | Freed | a—A

Nice angle @Razz ! The crown looks pretty drab against what is otherwise a really sleek building.

    Toronto Toronto | King East Centre | 140m | 39s | First Gulf | WZMH

^ Agreed. The south side of Front opposite this development oozes Victorian industrial charm. Sure, there's a lot of underused space down this way, i.e. lots of potential for blank-slate redevelopment, but I don't understand why glass should be the only way to go. The reality is that glassy...

    Toronto Toronto | U of T: Schwartz Reisman Innovation Centre (Phase 1) | 64.8m | 13s | U of T | Weiss/Manfredi

For me it's a handsome if under-loved building that contributes to a pleasant red-brick fabric along this bit of College. An unfortunate loss that will hopefully be totally justified if this project turns out as cool as it looks. I just hope phase 2 goes behind its neighbour at 100 College...

    Toronto Toronto | 12 Ossington | 19.81m | 4s | Hullmark | Hariri Pontarini

Neither do I, but I'm glad they're going for it. The current boom has really suffered for lack of whimsy. What better opportunity than a low-rise at Queen/Ossington to get a little weird.

    Toronto Toronto | The Britt Condos | 142.03m | 41s | Lanterra | Arcadis

The podium looks more PoMo than faux-historic to me. It's not stunning and could use better windows, but at the end of the day it still looks reasonably good IMO. Definitely the highlight of the project in any case.

    Toronto Toronto | 123 Portland | 49.3m | 14s | Minto Group | Sweeny &Co

    The ask: 14 storeys, 1 retail unit, 32 parking spaces (100 required), 106 bicycle spaces (95 required) + 11 short-term (11 required), and best of all: 1-bed: 7 2-bed: 56 2-bed + den: 15 3-bed: 27 The architecture may be a bit limp, but it's a sensible, family-friendly, urban-minded...

    Toronto Toronto | 351 Queen East | 96.55m | 28s | ONE Properties | Kirkor Architects

It's a shame 371 and 373 Queen E are included in the assembly. They're not glamorous but are quintessential Queen E, and it'd be a shame to lose the block's last remaining architectural connection to the neighbourhood, especially if replaced by just another blockbusting podium.

Don't get too attached, the red is just a placeholder for whatever Arbel comes up with.
