That is our first look at the lowrise apartments. It had been mentioned earlier in the thread that they changed to that from the proposed townhouses, but we never did see a rendering.

I was referring to the tower. Didn’t even notice the townhouses. They’re fine, as they don’t stick out into the skyline.

Yuck. That looks like shit. Now I’m worried Mintonis going to cheap out with their East Village project. This looks nothing like the renderings and the exterior materials are terrible.

I think it’s pretty decent and considering the level of attraction around it, I think those neighbours should swipe right.

I dunno, to me it looks almost the same as the rendering. I agree that the exterior materials look cheap.

The materials do look cheap, and I have a feeling we’re going to need to get used to it. We’ll be seeing this slot on low snd mid rise builds.
Cidex’s spandrel is going to look like the second coming of Christ.

A building has never fit the saying more: Good from far, far from good. That downtown shot, you're thinking "okay, that's cool". Then you get there and you're all, "wait what? What happened?!"

I guess they blew the budget on the windows and the railings. Those are great. The dented panels are not great. The checkerboard colors is even worse

Doesn't look bad, disappointed they eliminated the balcony screening, that would have added a bit more flash. The grey and white isn't ideal, but looks ok. Hopefully the retail spaces attract good tenants!

I'm going to default to the function over form mentality for this one. When it comes to adding density in these neighborhoods near downtown, I'm happy with projects like this or Victoria on 5th. Not great, but not offensive and not on a main drag retail drag like 10th st NW.
