Definitely this area is actually looking like a community. The houses are almost right up to the school on the west side along the main road. Buildings are almost getting to the lake which will better tie the community together. I just hope that they will have some mixed use along the main roads to encourage walking to amenities. As it stands now this is a pretty residential area that requires you have to drive and leave to get any services whatsoever.

I’m also interested if they’ll do anything to better connect with kingsway. That road kills the walkability of this area.

I suspect I'm going to be crossing a lot by the Aviation Museum at Tower Rd and biking south from there. East connections are supposed to be in the works.

Hanging out by the pond in Blatchford while in post-Italy withdrawals. Nice spot, and the neighbourhood is really taking shape, but it sorely needs that mixed-use development on Alpha Boulevard already. A nice cafe would be lovely. Btw, do y’all know if they’ll keep that giant hill as a sledding hill/ lookout point like they did in Griesbach?

Honestly the more I see homes getting built here and how the neighbourhood is turning out, I actually get it. It's actually going to be a really nice place once the ball gets rolling and everything starts coming together.
I suspect that just completing the connection to the LRT station and linking up to the bike grid is going to make a huge difference.

Exactly. If it’s already looking promising and pretty when it’s bare bones, I’d argue that it’s going to be an in demand neighbourhood soon enough.

I though the site design had a large hill in the NW corner.

They do (did?) and it was a key leisure element and 'would block predominant NW winds (lolz) making Blatchford more pleasant to experience.

Originally a lookout as well was to be included with could have been quite neat, but I believe that was indeed removed.
