Terrific pictures!

I'll be visiting Hong Kong in April or so and can't wait to see it in person.
I really appreciate the street level pics, the skyline is well documented but what's happening at ground level isn't seen nearly as much. Great shots!

Hong Kong...

To l: Interesting pics of Hong Kong-one of the World's most congested cities
with a very affluent sector of the population.
How has Hong Kong fared under Chinese rule? It looks as neat as ever to me! LI MIKE

The first six years until 2003 were all downhill. The Asian financial crisis saw stocks and property crash, and then the dot-com bust contributed to more pain. Finally the SARS crisis hit Hong Kong terribly. In the midst of all this the government tried (and failed) to pass a fascist "anti-subversion" bill, which caused mass anti-government protests and louder calls for full democracy while the Politburo to the north couldn't understand the meaning of this.

Since then huge amounts of Chinese money have flooded in, buying up large businesses, stocks, property, and luxury goods. The Chinese influence is everywhere, though the local/British sensitivities about liberal values have been respected. Unfortunately inequality is larger than it has been, so this needs to be addressed.
