Following September's official launch of Tour des Canadiens 2 in Montreal, the hockey-inspired development hosted a grand opening for their sales centre on November 22nd which was injected with a dose of glamour as Montreal Canadiens legend Guy Lafleur greeted an excited crowd of fans and prospective buyers.

Located directly southeast of the Bell Centre arena — on a lot currently occupied by the sales centre — the 37-storey tower's proximity to the storied hockey team is designed as a major selling point of the development. The 'Habs' franchise is likely one of the only sports teams in the world with a cultural mythology so pervasive (and a fan following so passionate) as to inspire such a branded highrise project, although Vancouver's Aquilini Centre and Toronto's Maple Leaf Square come close.

With the nearby Tour Des Canadiens already well underway, Canderel and Cadillac Fairview's Tour des Canadiens 2 will bring an additional influx of density to the rapidly developing area surrounding the Bell Centre, where parking lots and underused streches of land are now giving way to condo and office developments.

Designed by Page + Steele / IBI Group and Béïque, Legault, Thuot Architects, the project — located at Jean-d’Estrées and Saint-Antoine Street West — forms part of Montreal's Quad Windsor District, a large master-planned community that is re-making much of the city's downtown.

Like the first Tour des Canadiens tower, the 488-suite project will offer fans of 'les Habitants' unique access to the city's beloved team, with private viewings of practices and first priority for regular season tickets, as well as an exclusive tour of the dressing room.

Set to be joined to the Bell Centre by a skybridge, the tower's intimate connection to Le Grand Club will be further underscored in many of the amenity areas, with the gym (above) and games room (below) featuring extensive memorabilia and branding. Further amenities will include both indoor and outdoor pools, as well as a Skylounge which offers panoramic views of Downtown.

With construction expected to start in 2017, we will keep you updated as the project develops. Additional information and renderings can be found in our Database files for both phases, linked below.
