In Pasig, Metro Manila, a 10-hectare mixed-use development is taking shape. When fully built out, Ortigas & Company's Capitol Commons will contain a wealth of offices, residences, and retail spread across a vast array of green spaces. At its nucleus is the 64-storey residential tower The Royalton, whose 230-metre height lends views of the Pasig River, Laguna de Bay and the Sierra Madre mountain range.
Potential purchasers will have their pick between studio, one- and two-bedroom suites. The curved balconies affixed to the tower ensure that no two units are exactly alike. Oriented to minimize solar heat from the intense afternoon sun, the tower's sinuous form adds visual interest to a re-energized part of town.
Residents will be treated to a long list of amenities spread across a range of indoor and outdoor platforms. A landscaped garden deck, patio, and club room will give residents a chance to wine and dine their guests, which could then be followed by a workout in the designated fitness area to burn off those excess calories.
The retail anchor of the entire complex is Estancia Mall, a major shopping destination that houses numerous international lifestyle brands, including Pottery Barn and Aéropostale. Unimart will provide occupants with their everyday grocery needs and Paragon will feature six theatres accompanied by stores and restaurants. The five-tower development will also include The Imperium, a 62-storey residential building featuring a cylindrical design and a trapezoidal canted facade. Both The Royalton and The Imperium are now under construction and should be ready for occupancy in 2018.
