Currently under construction, the rise of Onni Group's The Hudson, a 25-storey, mixed-use residential/retail development in the River North district of Chicago, is well underway. The project is expecting wrap up in spring 2017.

Going up at 750 North Hudson Ave., the new development will also front along West Chicago Ave., adding 240 units and 10,000 square feet of retail space to the busy thoroughfare on the edge of downtown Chicago. Recent images reveal the size and scope of the project, with the first several storeys already beginning to take shape.

To contain a mixture of one- and two-bedroom units, ranging from 640 to 1,100 square feet, the residential tower will sit adjacent to the retail component, with the two structures joined at ground level.

Seen in the images above and below, The Hudson is quickly becoming a part of the surrounding River North neighbourhood, joining an increasingly dense urban landscape.

Once complete, North Hudson will place residents at the heart of the quickly redeveloping River North district, bordering the adjacent River West and Near North Side districts, and steps to the nearby Brown Line and Purple Line transit stops at Chicago Station, making for a quick commute into the Chicago Loop and Financial District. In close proximity as well to the Magnificent Mile, residents will be within walking distance of the Museum of Contemporary Art as well as several other Chicago landmarks.

SkyriseCities will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
