The last time we did a full story on LaCaille's Vogue in Calgary, construction was still progressing on the 36-storey building's rectangular floor plates. Crews have made a lot of progress in the subsequent months; work has begun on the tower's ornamental crown, which Forum contributor Surrealplaces captured with the help of a drone.

Vogue's Art Deco-inspired features anchor its central address at 914 6th Avenue SW. An eight-storey podium clad in stone and precast concrete panels is highlighted by a grand arched entryway framed by vertical expanses of glass. From there, a series of piers and balconies form the bulk of Vogue's tower portion, until it culminates in a stepped crown.

The drone video below shows the upper portion taking shape and enveloped in construction formwork. The skeleton of these floors is currently unclad and exposed to the elements. Temporary shoring jacks can be seen providing stability to the newly poured concrete floor slabs above.

The unique roofline of the S2 Architecture-designed development will become a prominent fixture in the Calgary skyline when work is completed and residents are welcomed with granite kitchen countertops, stainless steel appliances, and large soaker tubs in 2017.
